The macrobiotic diet is soaring in natural, non-refined foods, very near to the ground in saturated fats, and loaded with necessary fats. The expression "macrobiotics" was initially found in the notes of Hippocrates, where "macro" and "bios" being the Greek words for "good long and healthy life.". The macrobiotic diet and system was organized and promoted by a Japanese mentor called George Ohsawa, who understood that simplicity was the secret to good health. The diet he suggested included ten increasingly restrictive phases. The Macro Biotis Diet has its belief in holistic life process, where the yin and yang forces are balanced in our body, in a natural way.

What all to eat in Macrobiotic Diet System

 

The essential macrobiotic diet as the following balanced food ingredients:

 

Whole grains like brown rice, wheat, barley, oats, corn, and some seasonal vegetables.

 

You are advised to eat broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, mustard greens, onion, kale, radishes, and turnip greens a lot. You can have some protein foods like fish, soy and some nuts to go with; during the Macrobiotic Diet

 

You can ( once in a while ) eat  celery, mushrooms, iceberg lettuce, snow peas, string beans.

 

You should NOT eat peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, asparagus, spinach, avocado, beets, and zucchini during the Macrobiotic Diet System. Alcohol, Coffee, Sugar, Spices, Meats, Eggs, Cheese and not allowed in this diet.

 

Macrobiotic Diet System should be used in moderation and is lacking in vital vitamins such as B12 and vitamin D, and minerals like calcium, iron,  and can also be severely deficient in calories. It is not advisable for children and for pregnant or nursing women.
